Diamond Detective is another block matching game from the guys at Real Networks. The twist to this game is the chance of winning a diamond worth £1000 if you can solve the mystery of the diamond thieves. There isn\'t much detecting going on which is a shame given the recent spate of sleuth games. The game is split across 6chapters each with 10 levels that end in a chase against a jewel thief. All the levels, apart from the boss battles, require you to match enough gems to fill the bar at the top before the time runs out. Unlike the average block matcher, Diamond Detective doesn\'t believe in the horizontal or the vertical. Any adjacent similar diamond can be matched and the aim is to build as long a chain as possible for max points. Multiplier gems and diamonds help rack up the points and also act as wild cards so completing a chain that takes up the whole screen is not impossible. The fluidness of the controls make for a very enjoyable experience. You don\'t always have to be too accurate with your directions. If you push left on the Dpad and the only suitable gem is top left, the cursor knows where to go and you can easily snake along the screen. For precision moves, where you might want to maximise the chain, you can use the numbers on your keypad. There is also an undo feature to cancel your chain.
